The painless death

Although I didn’t have this knowledge before responding, I found the question intriguing and researched the subject. Here’s a summary of my findings, connected to our teachings and the Vedic perspective.
The Vedic perspective on euthanasia discourages ending life prematurely, viewing it as interference with karmic consequences that must naturally unfold. Euthanasia is seen as akin to suicide, generating more karma rather than relieving suffering. Instead, spiritual practices and detachment from the body are recommended for a peaceful end, aligning with natural law. For more details, visit the full article [here].
Hope this helps!

Hare Krishna, Agreed to the point that euthanasia is not allowed as per shastras as one’s body does not belong to oneself… Krsna is the owner of this body and hence one cannot decide to give up one’s body prematurely.
But in an actual scenario when a person is suffering due to extreme pain, one may or one’s relatives may refer to their spiritual master and take guidance as acaryas can decide and advise regarding practical implementation of standard principles according to time, place and circumstances. Hope that helps… thank you, pamho, yhs, medhavini sakhi dasi
