Non-Krishna Temple Prasadam
Posted by Tarun Bhatia on May 9, 2023 at 3:16 pmSince we always consume Krishna offered food only, what are the principles to consume Prasadam offered in other temples like Hanuman temple etc.?

Hare Krishna!
Any temple food will be considered as prasadam only if it is offered to Krishna or Vishnu deity. We must firmly believe that Krishna is the only bhoktā (BG 5.29 – bhoktāraṁ yajña-tapasāṁ).
Hanuman being a pure devotee of Lord Ram will accept prasadam that is offered to Sri Ram. If the bhoga is offered to Ram and then to Hanuman, then we may accept it as mahaprasadam.
If you are unsure of this practice being followed in other temples, then better to avoid eating anything as it is not considered prasadam.
In your service,
Ram Krishna Dasa
Hare Krishna! Dandavat Pranam. Thanks Prabhu Ji! Understood .
